Matt has had a 30+ year career in manufacturing, investment banking and private equity. He currently serves on the Board of Safety Marking Corporation, a Highview portfolio company since 2023.
Previously, Matt was the President and CEO of Ennis-Flint, Inc., which he and his business partner purchased in 2004. From that time, the company grew from a single location into the world’s largest manufacturer of pavement marking products operating on five continents before selling to PPG Industries (NYSE: PPG) in December 2020.
Earlier in his career, he worked in private equity and investment banking at Merrill Lynch, Wachovia Capital Partners, Equity Group Investments (Sam Zell’s investment group) and First Union Capital Partners. Over the past 20 years, Matt has served on seven corporate boards, primarily operating in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors, as well as a handful of non-profit boards.
Matt graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar and received his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management as an Austin Scholar.
