Highview-Backed GS Foods Expands National Presence with New Facilities in Colorado and Oregon

Nation’s Leading School Nutrition Provider Will Provide Reliable, Fresh Meals to 375 Districts Through Just-Opened Operations in Colorado Springs & Clackamas

ONTARIO, CA – GS Foods today announced the opening of two new distribution centers in Colorado and Oregon that will be operated under the Company’s Gold Star Foods brand. The facilities will serve every school district in each state – a total of 375 districts – providing healthy, fresh meals to two million students throughout Colorado and Oregon each week.

The opening of the Colorado and Oregon distribution centers comes as school districts and government partners begin to construct plans for school reopening in the Fall. This year, school nutrition programs will play an even more essential role in communities as unemployment numbers across the country continue to rise and more children will rely on school meals as an important source of their daily nutrition.

“We are thrilled to expand our services to both Colorado and Oregon and partner with the states’ school nutrition professionals and coordinators to ensure students have access to high quality meals that support their growth, education and success in the classroom,” said GS Foods CEO, Sean Leer. “At Gold Star, we are committed to delivering healthy, fresh and safe food to millions of children, especially during this unprecedented time, and we’ll continue to make this our top priority in Colorado and Oregon.”

As one of the leading school nutrition providers nationwide, GS Foods leverages its industry expertise, diverse supplier relationships and deep understanding of the policies and programs that guide school nutrition to serve over 800 school districts and provide meals to 6.5 million students per day – more than 20% of the school lunch population.
